The last week has seen revised schedules on the re-opening of business an services in both Greece and Cyprus. Lockdown has effectively ended and our industry is preparing to welcome back visitors.

On Friday 22nd May, the Greek Government published detailed protocols for the hotel industry, transport suppliers and airports amongst others. The Cyprus Government is due to announce its own protocols today.

The opening of airports in Cyprus will take place over two phases. Phase 1 starts starts on 09/06 with arrivals from “safe countries” including Greece, Malta, Bulgaria, Norway, Austria, Finland, Slovenia, Hungary, Israel, Denmark Germany, Slovakia, Lithuania. During phase 1 passengers will need to provide a health certificate issued in their country of origin not more than 72 hours prior to travel.

In phase 2 arrivals will be permitted from the following countries: Switzerland, Poland, Romania, Croatia, Estonia, Czech Republic. Again in the initial stages passengers will need to provide health certificates. However once we enter phase 2, arrivals from the first group of countries will no longer be required to provide certificates
